Bring back a classic: The room divider for your Exclusive

If you’re passionate about original details, you’ll know that the Volkswagen T4 California Exclusive catalogues featured an elegant laminated glass partition separating the kitchen and sink area from the dining area/rear seating (see attached photo in the gallery). I’ve revived that design, using its exact measurements and shape to create a steel replica.

This panel not only separates the spaces but is also highly functional: it acts as an effective shield against splashes of water and soap from the sink, keeping the upholstery of your rear seats clean and dry at all times.

Advantages of the steel replica

• Safety and durability: Unlike the original glass (which is difficult to type-approve and reproduce), this part is made from 2 mm steel, guaranteeing lifelong durability and maximum safety on the road thanks to its rounded edges.

Everyday functionality

• Cabin protection: It acts as a barrier between the kitchen area and the rear seat, preventing splashes or dirt from pans and plates from reaching the seating area.

Technical Specifications and Installation

• Material: High-strength S235JR steel.
• Dimensions: 855 mm (width) x 285 mm (height) x 2 mm (thickness).
• Included hardware: 3 custom-made 3D-printed spacers, designed to act as separators and create clearance from the cabinet beam. These spacers ensure that when the glass panel covering the hob is lifted, it does not knock against the beam and can remain raised.
• Installation: The component features 4 holes, each 6.5 mm in diameter, ready to be screwed or riveted directly onto the beam of the kitchen unit frame.
